However, that water should be collected and safely removed from the system.

Blocked condensate drains, failed pumps, dirty filters and frozen evaporator coils are just some of the possible causes.
Here's what could be causing your commercial air conditioning to leak water — and what you should do about it.
Why Does Air Conditioning Produce Water?
Before looking at what can go wrong, it helps to understand where the water comes from.
As warm indoor air passes over the cold evaporator coil inside an air conditioning system, moisture in the air condenses on the cold surface.
It's similar to the condensation that forms on the outside of a cold drink on a warm day.
In a correctly operating air conditioning system, that moisture is:
Warm, humid air → cooled by the evaporator → condensation forms → water collects in the drain tray → water leaves through the condensate drainage system
Depending on the installation, water may drain naturally or be removed using a condensate pump.

4. Frozen Evaporator Coil

Why Does My AC Leak After I Switch It Off?
If water appears shortly after the system has been turned off, ice may have formed while it was operating.
Once the equipment stops, the ice begins to thaw.
